LEADING LADIES CAST ANNOUNCED!

Shari Miranda and the casting crew would like to thank all of the talented individuals who came out for auditions.


Leading Ladies by Ken Ludwig is a comedy about two English Shakespearean actors, Jack and Leo, who find themselves so down on their luck that they are performing "Scenes from Shakespeare" on the Moose Lodge circuit in the Amish country of Pennsylvania. When they hear that an old lady in York, PA is about to die and leave her fortune to her two long lost English nephews, they resolve to pass themselves off as her beloved relatives and get the cash. The trouble is, when they get to York, they find out that the relatives aren't nephews, but nieces!

Season tickets mean savings – five performances for the price of four. Adult season tickets are $56 each, while season tickets for seniors 64 and older and students are $44 each. 

Ticket prices for main stage productions are $14 for adults and $11 for seniors (64+) and students, which mean season tickets with five performances for the price of four represent a 20 percent savings. Season tickets may be used for any five performances.  Another great benefit of being a season ticket-holder is that you can reserve tickets before the box office opens to the general public.
 
Ordering season tickets is easy. Just complete this form, enclose a check payable to Central Park Players, and mail it to P.O. Box 564, Grand Haven, MI 49417.

 Central Park Players is seeking a director for the following production:

A Christmas Carol  
Adapted by John Mortimer from the story by Charles Dickens.
Directed by:
December 3-12, 2009  Grand Haven Community Center

Dramatized with flair and wit in a version first performed by the Royal Shakespeare Company, this adaptation of the ageless story captures Dickens' ironic point of view while it creates a panoramic view of Victorian London. All of the much loved characters are in place. Cast and staging requirements are extremely flexible; there is ample opportunity for creative doubling.

Voice Activated holds auditions Oct. 1, 6

Voice Activated, a local readers’ theatre company, will hold auditions on Oct. 1 at 10 a.m. and Oct. 6 at 2 p.m. in the parlor at Christ Community Church, 225 E. Exchange St., Spring Lake.

Readers must be available some weekday mornings and afternoons, have access to and use e-mail, and attend a Voice Activated workshop.

Voice Activated volunteer readers take theatre to older adults throughout the Tri-Cities and also perform for children in non-classroom settings. Performances are during the day weekdays.

Calling all Art Lovers! Get Free Tickets to a Unique Outdoor Floral/Art Exhibit!

The best floral designers from around the country will gather in West Michigan this fall to express their unique interpretations of famous works of art by museum masters in “Natures’ Creative Edge 2009 “Floral Art – Museum Inspirations”, on the evenings of September 18, 19, 2009 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., and September 20 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Nature’s Creative Edge is an outdoor floral exhibit set in the West Michigan woods.  The public is invited to experience this family-friendly extravaganza of floral art by 40 of the worlds most acclaimed floral designers as they take a walk through the outdoor gallery and view floral interpretations of the work of the most famous painters and sculptors throughout the ages.

Stroll through five acres of groomed paths & enjoy spectacular, larger than life displays set among the trees.  You’ll be enchanted as evening turns the forest into a magical vision illuminated by over 2,000 candles and carefully placed spotlights. 

Tickets are on sale now and will be available at the gate, but you can get a FREE "couples" ticket by volunteering to work a two-hour shift during the event at the shuttle bus parking lot.  Courtesy buses will transport viewers to the exhibit from the complimentary parking lot on Sternberg Road near Hilton Park Road and helpers are needed to direct traffic and help people on and off the buses.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

The Gallas family; Rusty, Jr., Cheryl, and Russell Sr., have ALL been cast in Holland Civic Theatre's upcoming production of A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum.  The show runs the first three weekends in October.  This is Holland Civic Theatre's 50th anniversary season.  Congratulations!
