A Christmas Carol Cast Opens

Auditions for Oliver!

Announcements- Urgent, Missing Costumes!

CPP’s A Christmas Carol Haunts Pleasantly

In an 1843 forward to A Christmas Carol Charles Dickens writes, “I have endeavoured in this Ghostly little book, to raise the Ghost of an Idea, which shall not put my readers out of humour with themselves, with each other, with the season, or with me.  May it haunt their houses pleasantly…”.

With a cast topping out at over 20 actors, all playing multiple roles, Central Park Players’ A Christmas Carol will have no trouble haunting the Grand Haven Community Center ‘pleasantly’ in its 6-performance run beginning this weekend.

Adapted by John Mortimer from the story by Charles Dickens and directed by Dave Riegler, this version of the beloved holiday production, first performed by the Royal Shakespeare Company, is set in Victorian London and captures Dickens' ironic point of view with wit and style.

Scrooge.jpgActor Robert Sniderman is playing Scrooge and is put through his paces by the usual ghostly crew along with a chorus that serves as narrators, commentators, and incidental characters.  This version of the production on the whole provides just the right amount of heartstring-tugging, giving us pause for thought about our own level of social responsibility at this time of year.

A great holiday entertainment for the whole family, show dates are December 4-6 and 10-12, 2009 at the Grand Haven Community Center.

On Monday, November 30th, the box office opens for the general public at the Grand Haven Community Center, from 1:30 to 5:30 PM each day and until 8 pm on show nights. On Sunday the box office will open from 12:30 until 2 PM for the matinee.

Reserve tickets via telephone by calling 616-971-1329.
